Cube Battle Live September Update: FTO, Battles, and Ranked Solves
Cube Battle Live is turning into more than a timer. It is becoming a place to practice, rank, race, and get ready for the next wave of speedcubing.
FTO is in the mix now
The big one is FTO. With Face Turning Octahedron headed toward official WCA competition, Cube Battle Live has added FTO scrambles so cubers can start practicing inside the same app they already use for ranked solves and live battles.
That matters because new events always have a wild early phase. People are learning hardware, figuring out recognition, building their first real averages, and trying to find out where they stand. Cube Battle Live gives FTO a home before the first big wave of official results starts rolling in.
Ranked solves make practice feel real
A normal timer is useful. A timer with ranked solves hits different. When you start an attempt and know it can land on a cubing leaderboard, the solve has a little more pressure behind it.
That is the point of Cube Battle Live ranked attempts. Whether you are grinding 3x3, messing with Skewb, or getting early FTO reps, ranked solves give your practice a scoreboard without making it complicated.
Battle rooms are still the heartbeat
Live cubing battles are what make Cube Battle Live feel alive. Same scramble, same moment, different cubers trying to keep their hands under control when the timer starts.
The room flow keeps getting cleaner, especially on bigger screens. Battle rooms need to feel like the main event, not a tiny pop-up you have to wrestle with. The goal is simple: enter the room, see the scramble, solve, and know where you stand.
The iPad version is becoming a real comp table setup
iPad support is a huge step because tablets make sense for cubing. You can set one beside your mat, keep the timer readable, and still have room for battle info, scrambles, stats, and tournament flow.
The more Cube Battle Live grows, the more the iPad version can feel like a mini competition station: timer up front, rooms easy to enter, tournaments easy to follow, and everything big enough to actually use while solving.
Built for the next tournament night
Every update is pushing toward the same thing: less friction, more solving. Faster access to the timer, cleaner Battle Bracket flow, useful notifications, better ranked attempts, and leaderboards that make people want to come back.
Cube Battle Live is still free to jump into, and it keeps getting closer to the original idea: a speedcubing app where practice can turn into a race whenever other cubers show up.
Cube Battle Live
Practice faster. Battle cleaner.
Use the timer, race the same scramble in a room, and follow the next online bracket.
